Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
The short version
VidSnap collects almost nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising. Your downloads are processed on demand and never stored.
What we do not collect
- No personal information (name, email, phone) — there is no sign-up.
- No usage analytics or behavioral tracking.
- No video files — downloaded content streams through the server and is deleted immediately after the transfer completes.
What is processed
When you submit a video link, our server sends that URL to the source platform (e.g. YouTube) to retrieve format information, then downloads the selected stream on your behalf. This happens in memory and on temporary storage only; temporary files are removed the moment the download finishes or fails.
What is stored on your device
Your language preference (English or Chinese) is saved in your browser's localStorage so the site remembers it on your next visit. This never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.
Third-party services
- Fonts and icons are loaded from Google Fonts and unpkg CDN; these providers may see your IP address as part of normal web delivery.
- When downloading, your browser or our server communicates with the source video platform, which operates under its own privacy policy.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated date above will be revised. Continued use of VidSnap after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
